1. Women as Muftis
FINALLY!! Finally, women now have the "honor" of being muftis! A big step for the Muslim world. Congrats to us all! It's quite disturbing that the right to be a religious leading, whether Imam or mufti, has traditionally been acceptable only for the male Muslim. I still wonder, what is it about a woman that forbids her that high a status in religious sense? (I know why it's looked down upon, but it's sad how much those reasons have fooled mainstream Muslim community.)
